Stylist Alden "Gib" Giberson submitted Thunderbird as part of a list. Crusoe offered a $250 suit to anyone who could come up with a better name. There was some difficulty in naming the car, with suggestions ranging from the exotic to the ridiculous (Hep Cat, Beaver, Detroiter, Runabout, Arcturus, Savile, El Tigre, and Coronado were submitted among the 5,000 suggestions). Unlike the Corvette, the Thunderbird was never a full-blown sporting vehicle Ford's description was personal luxury car, and the company essentially created this market segment. Crusoe saw a painted clay model on May 18, 1953, which corresponded closely to the final car he gave the car the go-ahead in September after comparing it with current European trends. The concept was for a two-passenger open car, with a target weight of 2525 lb (1145 kg), an Interceptor V8 engine and a top speed of over 100 mph (160 km/h). Hershey took the idea and began working on the vehicle. Walker promptly telephoned Ford's HQ in Dearborn and told designer Frank Hershey about the idea. Walking in the Grand Palais in Paris, Crusoe pointed at a sports car and asked Walker, 'Why can't we have something like that?' Crusoe and Walker met in France in October 1951. Crusoe, a retired GM executive lured out of retirement by Henry Ford II George Walker, chief stylist and a Ford vice-president and Frank Hershey, a Ford designer. Three men are generally credited with creating the original Thunderbird: Lewis D. In 2002, a revived 2-seat model was launched, was available through the end of the 2005 model year. Sales were good until the 1990s, when large 2-door coupes became unpopular production ceased after 1997. Succeeding generations became larger and more luxurious, until the line was downsized in 1977 and again in 1980. In 1958, the Thunderbird gained a second row of seats for greater practicality. Ford described it as a personal luxury car, a description which named a new market segment. It entered production for the 1955 model year as a two-seater sporty car unlike the superficially similar (and slightly earlier) Chevrolet Corvette, the Thunderbird was never sold as a full-blown sports car. The Ford Thunderbird is a car manufactured in the United States by the Ford Motor Company.

This is where Bear starts to shine like Notion but the icons are greyscaled and limited. This can add more visibility to tags that deserve more attention and importance. TagCons (Tag icons) can also be added to a tag on the left sidebar by right-clicking a tag and selecting Change Tag Icon. And unlike Evernote, there is no need to add tags by clicking Add tag at the bottom of the note editor. Unlike Twitter, there is no restriction of spaces between multiple words. Unfortunately, like most commercial films, Lion doesn’t say anything particularly meaningful about the world. The performances are excellent, with 8-year old Pawar, lighting every scene with his delightful smile, the standout. It is an effective, pleasurably melodramatic film – I challenge anyone to see it without reaching for the tissue box. Despite the length of the film, the construction of the story is economic enough to maintain the viewer’s interest throughout.Įight-year-old Sunny Pawar, who plays a young Saroo Brierley, is the film’s standout. The score by Volker Bertelmann and Dustin O'Halloran is emotively symphonic without a surplus of schmaltz. The photography balances beautiful, epic shots of the Indian and Tasmanian landscapes with pathos-laden close-ups of the main characters. The technical elements of the film are perfectly realised. On the way he falls in love with Lucy (Rooney Mara). In the second half of the film we follow adult Saroo (Dev Patel) as he sets off on his obsessive quest to find his family. He ekes out a living as a beggar, narrowly avoiding enslavement as a child prostitute, before winding up in an orphanage, whence he is adopted by Australian couple Sue (Nicole Kidman) and John (David Wenham). Not speaking the common language of Bengali, he’s unable to converse with anyone. The first half follows the imperiled Saroo as a young boy (Sunny Pawar) who finds himself lost in the urban nightmare of Calcutta, thousands of kilometres from home. 25 years later, he uses Google Earth to locate his home village and is reunited with his birth mother. An Australian production written by Luke Davies ( Candy) and adapted from Saroo Brierly’s memoir A Long Way Home (2013), it follows the remarkable true story of an Indian boy who, lost in Calcutta, is adopted by an Australian couple and grows up in Tasmania. Gao Brothers, Wen Hui, Pi San, Ye Fu, original Kuang Kuang Clip etc.Lion is a well-made film starring Dev Patel, Rooney Mara, Nicole Kidman and David Wenham. Art Filmfestival (2020), Tel Aviv (Israel) – Fünf Seen Filmfestival, Starnberg (Deutschland) – International Filmfestival Innsbruck (Austria) – Montréal, Festival des films du monde (Canada) I have followed its economic development and subsequent political and social upheaval with both amazement and bewilderment: What do external events, ruptures and changes trigger in people, and how does it impact their daily lives?» Since the brutal suppression of the Democracy Movement in 1989, I’ve traveled through China several times. «My exploration of China and Chinese culture goes back more than 25 years now. In doing so, the film poses universal questions that ultimately concern us all: which values determine our cultural identity and in what kind of world do we want to live? A Long Way Home is an entertaining and moving plea for human solidarity. Their vision is of a democratic, supportive and humane civil society.Ī Long Way Home takes us on a fascinating journey into both the grim days of recent Chinese history and the dazzling cultural scene in present-day China. What they share is a struggle to come to terms with their respective pasts, all scarred by violence and oppression. With bravery and subversive wit, they each shed light on the social problems in their country from their unique perspective. The documentary « A Long Way Home» centers around five of the most significant representatives of contemporary Chinese counterculture: the visual artists the Gao Brothers, the choreographer and dancer Wen Hui, the animation artist Pi San and the poet Ye Fu. Luckily, that’s not the case at Freddy’s! Today, most fast-food places will hold the bun if you request them. The best part about Freddy’s is that they have lettuce wrap versions available for all burgers and sandwiches. But if you are dining out, you can even go up to 15g carbs, only if you cut down carbs from other meals during the day! (Net Carbs = Total Carbs – Dietary Fiber). I’ll provide you with an amazing game plan to keep your carbs under the keto range.Ī keto diet requires you to eat around 25g of net carbs per day, which translates to 7-8g carbs per meal. If all the above points feel too restricting, give me a chance. If you have a sweet tooth, go for a Diet Pepsi instead of Shakes, Sundaes, or Concretes.(go for the low-carb ones, more on this later) Buns are a ‘NO-NO’, since they are loaded with carbs. That’s where I come in and help you pick the right keto-friendly items from Freddy’s menu.įollow these strategies for a perfect low-carb meal: Sticking to your Keto-diet might be difficult here but if you have a set plan for the same, it won’t be something to worry about. Thankfully, there’s an antidote for this type of mouse and rat poison: Vitamin K1, a prescription medication readily available at your veterinarian. I’d rather you use the more human snap trap – much safer to you and your pet!Īnticoagulant rodenticides (ACR): These ACRs inhibit the production of Vitamin-K dependent blood clotting factors (made in the liver), so when ingested in toxic amounts by dogs or cats, it can result internal bleeding. I’m never an advocate of using these types of poisons, as they pose a threat to wildlife, pets, and birds of prey (e.g., raptors like red-tail hawks, owls, etc.). When in doubt, please don’t use these poisons around your house if you have pets. Not even all veterinarians are aware of these newer active ingredients!ĭepending on what type of mouse and rat poison was ingested, clinical signs can vary. Unfortunately, this means that newer, different types of poisons are cropping up. While the most common type of mouse poison (e.g., brodifacoum, bromadiolone, etc.) often affects your dog’s ability to clot properly, new EPA mandates by the government are reducing the availability of this specific type of poison (called an anticoagulant rodenticide or “ACR”). These poisons all work (and kill) in different ways, so pay heed! In today’s blog, we’ll talk about the 4 different types of active ingredients found in these mouse and rat poisons. Posted by justinelee in Animal Safety, Blog, Pet HealthĪs the weather gets colder, mice and rats start seeking shelter in warm locations… in other words, your house! Unfortunately, the start of autumn means the start of mouse and rat poisoning, putting your dog or cat at risk. Pay attention to what Houses they are in. They show characteristics that you are born with and will keep all through your life. Mercury and Venus never form a trine, since they are never more than 76° apart. And so on.Īlso the twelve signs of the Zodiac have natural trines, as mentioned and seen on the illustration above. The 2nd House is always in trine to the 6th House, since one's personal resources are connected to and exploited in one's work, which is usually the main way to increase one's resources. So, the 1st House is always in trine to the 5th House, since one's personality is smoothly expressed in spare time activities. Here are the twelve Houses, and keywords for what part of life they describe: The House of the moon will tell you what you long for the most, and the House of Mercury will tell you what you are the most curious about. Here are the keywords for the planets and other points that form aspects:įor example, the moon in trine with Mercury means that your longing and your curiosity are in harmony, stimulating one another: when you are involved in one, the other is also stimulated. Also take into consideration the Zodiac sign each planet is in, which tells you more about the nature of that planet's influence - and even more so the Houses of the planets, which inform you of where in your life the trine is mainly active. Instead, see the keywords for the planets below, and you will probably figure out what their trines will signify. There is no room here to describe all the possible trines and how they should be interpreted. Also the twelve Houses of the horoscope have trine aspects, as can be seen in the image. Zodiac signs of the same element are in Trine aspects. Also, there is math in the aspect: the circle's 360° divided by three is 120. Such signs have very much in common, so forces within them cooperate fine if they are connected in an aspect. The origin of the astrological significance of the trine is from the Zodiac: it is the aspect that connects Zodiac signs of the same element (fire, earth, air, or water). Of course, such a trine is even more important. In some cases, there can be three or more planets or other points in a trine, if one or both sides of it has a conjunction. The closer the trine is to 120°, the stronger the aspect is, and the more it enhances the planets involved. It is not as strong an aspect as the conjunction and the opposition, but it still enhances the planets involved, compared to what their importance would be without that aspect. So, both sides of the trine are enriched by the aspect between them. The classical astrology meaning of a trine is that the powers involved are in harmony, so that they stimulate one another to increased activity and success. When elastic tape is correctly applied to the affected muscle, it lifts the skin to create a small space between the muscle and dermis layers, which reduces pressure on the injured muscles, helping to reduce pain and decrease localized acute inflammation, while allowing smooth muscle movements. Once applied, the tape is then rubbed to activate the pressure sensitive adhesive. They are composed of cotton, elastic filaments, and highly durable adhesive glue that is both latex-free and waterproof, which provides tactile and mechanical stimulation.Įlastic taping involves applying bandages composed of elastic and adherent material to the affected muscle in the stretch position, starting at the origin of the muscle and continuing until its insertion. Kinesiotape and Rock Tape are types of elastic taping which stretch up to 140% of their original length. This type of taping doesn’t restrict the movement of the body and can prolong the benefits of manual therapy performed by rehabilitation specialists, including Physical Therapists. It is commonly used to treat or prevent muscle and joint related injuries such as sprains and strains, as well as tendinitis.Įlastic taping has been designed to encourage the natural healing process of the body by providing support and stability to affected muscles and joints. While taping as a therapeutic technique has been used since around the 1800’s, elastic taping, such as Kinesiotape (KT) and Rock Tape, have recently become quite popular in the rehabilitation industry. AWS operational costs can seem daunting when you are trying to understand how to reduce them. Some users, however, find it difficult to control their expenditures due to a variety of causes. As a result of its breadth of services, you have several options to optimize your costs by using an elastic approach. With AWS Free Tier, the first 50GB of data transferred out and the first 2,000,000 HTTP/HTTPS requests are free so for this example, your bill for the month would be reduced to $0.00.As a comprehensive cloud computing platform for businesses, Amazon Web Services (AWS) offers an assortment of services for managing their data infrastructures as they grow and expand. If you created your account in the past 12 months, you are eligible for the AWS Free Tier. Adding the two values together, the total cost for using CloudFront for this example would be $2.49 for the month. Also, each click is an HTTP request, so for the month that equals 30,000 HTTP requests, which comes to a total of $0.02 for the month. Half the requests are from the US and half are from Europe, so your monthly total for data transferred comes to $2.47. Turns out each request is 1MB for the amount of data transferred, so in total for the month that comes to 30,000MB or 29GB (1GB = 1,024MB). Each visitor clicked 1 page that returned a single object (1 request) and they did this once each day for 30 days.
